Breville 800JEXL – Juice Fountain Elite Juice Extractor Review

The Breville juice extractor is probably my top pick for anyone in the market for a mid range commercial juicer. The sheer amount of positive reviews to be found on the top online shopping websites is testimony to the quality and juicing ability of this Breville 800JEXL machine. This is not a brand new model but it has withstood the test of time with a solid 10 years in the market.  Let’s take a good look and see why this juicer has stood the test of time.

800JEXL - Breville Juicer in ActionOne of the first things we notice with this machine is the powerful motor which competently crosses the divide between home and commercial juicing machines. The juicer consumes a 1000 watts enabling it to run at either 6,500 or 13,000 RPM. Speed is selected depending on the material that needs juicing. 6500 is perfect for softer fruits and vegetables whereas you would want to use the 13,000 setting for anything harder that juicers may normally struggle to juice properly. The casing and enclosure is top quality die-cast in high quality steel and the whole product has been well designed both functionally and in the aesthetics department.

This juicer is equipped with a 3″ chute allowing you to juice up many different food groups with minimal chopping preparation beforehand. You can comfortable juice whole products like tomatoes, apples, carrots and pretty much any other fruit or vegetable saving you time and extra work. The left over pulp is conveniently collected in a separate container with specially fitted waste bags making it simple for disposal and minimizing the amount of cleaning after each juicing session.

The cutting blade is made from stainless steel and coated with titanium ensuring durability and longevity as well as strength to ensure food safety remains a top priority. The titanium not only reinforces the strength but also ensures the blades stay nice and sharp for much longer than traditional steel blades.

Cleaning is very simple after use – throw the pulp bag away scrape out the remaining lumps of pulp and put all the other parts into the dishwasher with the exception of the filter which you will need to rinse off in the sink.

As mentioned above the Breville 800JEX has a powerful 1000 watt motor with two different speeds which can be selected depending on the type of fruit or vegetable that requires juicing. On the faster setting there is not much you can throw at this commercial juicer that cannot be processed with a resulting high juice yield and dry pulp. This model is quite capable of juicing wheat grass which many models struggle with. My personal test is to see what happens with a potato (that always sorts out the best machines from the weak ones) and I was quite surprised to see the strong and hard textures of potato were no problem at all to “liquidize” . The video below shows the machine in action and will give you a good idea of how it performs.

Safety is important with any product like this as accidents do happen! The Breville 800JEXL has both an overload protection which will switch the unit off in the event of overheating and you will find the machine/blades will not work until the lid is firmly locked into place.

Pro’s and Con’s

As with other reviews on the site I had planned to list out the Pro’s and Con’s but after using the machine for around three years myself and fully investigating other customer experiences on the major shopping sites I can honestly say there are no Con’s worth mentioning and the product comes highly recommended.

If you are looking for a mid range commercial juicer (which is quite suitable for home use as well) then this Breville unit is the perfect choice due to it’s high quality build, safety features and juicing ability.
